Initiative “Josef will wohnen”
Now it’s official. Together with the working group “Josef will wohnen” (Josef wants to live), we have developed a counter vision to the development concept of the city of Zurich for the Josef site in Zurich West.
Currently, 130 apartments for the elderly, an indoor swimming pool and a health center are planned for the site. Despite the housing shortage, no ordinary apartments are planned. However, a higher proportion of apartments would also be urgently needed for a mixed and lively Zürich West.
On the initiative of the Hamasil Stiftung, we have developed three different concepts with the working group. These show that up to 600 apartments could be built on the site in addition to the uses planned by the city.
The proposals show different ways of densification with high-rise buildings and attractive green spaces that can provide a pleasant urban space and biodiversity.
