Eigerhaus Office Building

The property at Zieglerstrasse 53 in Bern is undergoing targeted renovation, and the interior is being modernized in a strategic manner. Built in several phases between 1950 and 1992, this office building is being repositioned and adapted to meet the requirements of contemporary work environments.

The building is being thoroughly reimagined and adapted for long-term use through interventions that are as targeted as possible. The formerly fragmented office layout is being transformed into flexible office spaces that meet a variety of usage requirements.

The existing building structure will be preserved in its entirety and will be expanded only in those areas where it no longer meets current requirements. By opening up selected corridor areas and making targeted adjustments to the floor plans, more spacious, interconnected spaces will be created, with more natural light and a higher quality of environment.

The courtyard building is also being carefully modernized and functionally expanded. A new kitchen creates a central gathering place. By adapting the access routes and ancillary spaces, the building’s use as an office is specifically optimized without fundamentally altering its character. Thanks to small, precise changes to the interior design, the building’s diverse spaces are preserved.
